This custom mantelpiece, crafted from laminated hardwood, is seamlessly integrated into the room. It is place precisely into the existing oak herringbone floor. Designed to complement the classical detailing of the surrounding woodwork, it also draws inspiration from the traditional black granite materials commonly used in Amsterdam. Portions of the original plasterwork were removed to expose the brick, adding warmth to the space.

Initially modeled in 3D to ensure proper scale and proportions, the mantelpiece was then further detailed during construction for an elegant, classic look. Its design also accommodates the future integration of a television, with concealed spaces below to house power and cable connections.
